How to Choose a Curtain Maker

We recommend that you ask a prospective curtain-maker how many of these simple questions they can answer “yes” to:

Are you well established with many years’ experience?

02.

Do you take on projects of all sizes, from one tiny window to a whole house or business premises?

03.

Does a large proportion of your business come from recommendations and returning customers?

04.

Are you local and employing local people?

05.

Do you make your curtains and blinds yourselves and not buy them in from mass producing factories?

06.

Do you come to our home or business and measure and offer interior design advice without extra charge?

07.

Do you take on tricky windows, such as pitched and shaped?

08.

Do you listen to what we want and turn our vision into reality?

09.

Can you supply fabric from all major fabric houses, or, if we prefer, will you work with fabric we provide?

10.

Do you produce a fully itemised quotation, that you always honour, so no surprises at payment time?

11.

Can you supply tracks and poles and organise the fitting of them by a qualified fitter at a reasonable rate?

12.

Can we visit your workroom and see our work in progress?

13.

Do we pay for fabric and hardware in advance, but only pay for what you have made once it is installed?

14.

Do you come and deliver, fit and dress the curtains and blinds at no extra charge?

15.

Do you provide a first class after-sales service?

Leslie has been a pleasure to work with, offering advice when requested. Her expertise is fantastic and we often dip into that before choosing design and style of fitting. As we are single glazed we have many triple lined full length curtains which are a real benefit in the winter. Kind, courteous, knowledgeable, professional are all attributes that come to mind. I don’t normally post reviews for people that I work with as they know, if they are good if I use them time and time again. If they aren’t, they don’t hear from me a second time. I am only posting now as I have read a review that has my blood boiling. If only there was a way to review our clients as well in this industry, people might not be so ill mannered as to post false/harmful reviews. Such a shame.
